Add-on Support
Forget everything you know about conventional mic stands. Our modular system lets you mount Add-on arms anywhere on the stand—each one replacing a full mic stand. Less clutter, faster setups, zero compromise. And you can build your mic rig exactly how you want it.
So which lengths should you buy? It all comes down to where you position the stand.
Here are just a few ways you can use our Add-on arms:
Big Tree – On the floor tom side of the kit, use a 20″ or 24″ arm for the tom, a 16″ for the second rack tom and a 12″ for cymbals – for example. Which arm to use for which sound source depends entirely on where you place the stand—Big Tree adapts to your setup, not the other way around.
Sidekick – On the snare side of the drums, for example, mix and match 12″, 16″, or 20″ arms to mic the snare, hi-hat, rack tom and kick. Or put the stand on top of a Leslie with arms angled down for stereo mic’ing.
Solo – Perfect for stereo mic’ing a piano attaching a 12″ or 16″ arm or Stub Mount to the top mounted arm. Use side-mounted arms (12″, 16″, or Stub) to mic acoustic guitar during vocal tracking, or to hold a phone or tablet (adapter not included). A 20″ arm gives you horizontal reach for mic’ing two players (horns, backup vocals, strings), stereo mic’ing a Leslie, or layering mics on percussion and stacked amps.
Shorty – Pair 12″ and 16″ arms to double or triple-mic kick drums, amps, snare drums or seated guitarists.

DISCLAIMER
All Base 4 products are built by hand at Base 4 HQ in Philadelphia by the designer, Todd Horton. Each product is fully assembled and thoroughly tested before leaving the shop. You may find what might appear to be signs of “use” on a product that is new. This is normal and sometimes the result of machining and assembling metal parts by hand. No such sign will affect the functionality or longevity of the product.
