Blumlein Attachment
The next really cool thing.
Blumlein Attachment
The Base 4 Blumlein Attachment mounts directly onto the Big Tree stand. Specifically designed for extra heavy microphones, it allows you to make height and rotation adjustments while the array remains in tact. Other solutions use two separate stands, requiring you to reposition them both when making adjustments during placement. This can be both cumbersome and time consuming. Adjusting the Base 4 Stands Blumlein Attachment couldn’t be easier.

Secure
Your microphones are safe when mounted with Base 4 connectors. Their strength is unparalleled. And since the attachment is vertically centered next to the riser there is no need to worry about tipping. Counterweights and sandbags are not necessary for the stand to be completely stable.
Solutions
Base 4 designer Todd Horton has this to say:
“I have a passion for finding solutions to mic stand problems. This particular challenge was my greatest yet. I had never seen a stand that could support two RCA or AEA 44s in Blumlein, yet I knew their were folks out there who would welcome an easier way to accomplish it.”

Lightweight
The Big Tree stand only weighs around 10 lb. With the Blumlein attachment plus two 44s mounted it weighs just under 30 lb. The whole setup can easily be picked up and moved around the room. To put things into perspective, the large boom stands typically used to hold just one 44 can weigh between 30-40 lb. And that’s without the 8-9 lb mic mounted.
“Base 4 completely rethinks the mic stand… these stands are so much lighter and easier to use than the heavy steel stands we all know and love, but are strong enough to hold heavy ribbon and tube mics. It’s much easier to move these stands around the studio, and your back and shoulders will thank you.”
